LIGHTHOUSE

Snippet

The essence of the Latin term [Pereginatio] is caught up in the
ninth –century story of three Irishmen drifting over the sea
from Ireland for seven days.  The men, in coracles, without
oars, come ashore in Cornwall and are brought to the court
of King Alfred.
When the king asks them where they have come from and
where they are going, they answer that they, “stole away
because we wanted for the love of God to be on pilgrimage,
we cared not where.”

Scripture

Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!
A river brings joy to the city of our God,
the sacred home of the Most High.
God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed.
From the very break of day, God will protect it.                  Psalms 46:3-5 NLT

Song
My Lighthouse Rend Collective

In my wrestling and in my doubts
In my failures You won't walk out
Your great love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
You are the peace in my troubled sea

In the silence, You won't let go
In my questions, Your truth will hold
Your great love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
You are the peace in my troubled sea

My Lighthouse, my lighthouse
Shining in the darkness, I will follow You
My Lighthouse, my Lighthouse
I will trust the promise,

You will carry me safe to shore (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Safe to shore (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Safe to shore (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Safe to shore

I won't fear what tomorrow brings
With each morning I'll rise and sing
My God's love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
You are the peace in my troubled sea
Fire before us, You're the brightest
You will lead us safe to shore

Sentence Prayer

Almighty God:
The waves my be overwhelming to us
But as you are the maker and controller of oceans
We place our trust in your care.
Praise to the Holy Son
You are the light of the world
The darkness is overwhelming
Teach us to follow the light
From your Lighthouse.
Holy Spirit, we praise you
As the one who hovers over
The water to calm or stir the overwhelming waves
For the Glory of God.
Take us where you will
Immerse us in the Love of God
That we may in a small way be a lighthouse

Of that same great love!  Amen  R.M.
