unity

Snippet

Are we a bag of Marbles or a bag of grapes? A Bag Marbles rolls around and grates on one another, making lots of noise.

Or are we A bag of grapes that presses together, squishing, bleeding and intermingling?

Scripture

I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. John 17:20,21 NLT

Song

THE CIRCLE SONG

By Mark Vickstrom

CHORUS

We are all united here / in a circle God created

Help us make it through our lives / fulfill the promise in our hearts The cirlce is often tangled / its members confused and bewildered

But the bond is never broken / love flows endlessly

In a circle of God's love

We are all united here / in a circle God created

Help us make it through our lives / fulfill the promise in our hearts From those around us we gain strength / in times of need we are cared for

We can not be separated by distance, death or time / for unity exists within our hearts and souls and minds

We are all united here / in a circle God created

Help us make it through our lives / fulfill the promise in our hearts

The joys and sorrows we all share / will never tear us apart

They will keep us close together / we will be bound forever

Help us make it through our lives / fulfill the promise in our hearts

ACCEPTANCE

Snippet

Let Go and Let God

Scripture

He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said. Job 2:10

Song

When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,
there will be an answer. let it be.

Let it be, let it be, .....

And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me,
shine until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Let it be, let it be, .....

God’s Hospitality

Snippet

It has deep roots in the notion of God's every present hospitality in both nature

and other people, the idea that, properly understood, ever thing in creation

invites us to share in God's love. Dakota Kathleen Norris pg 202

Scripture

God appeared to Abraham at the Oaks of Mamre while he was sitting at the

entrance of his tent. It was the hottest part of the day. He looked up and saw three men standing. He ran from his tent to greet them and bowed before them.

He said, "Master, if it please you, stop for a while with your servant. I'll get some water so you can wash your feet. Rest under this tree. I'll get some food to refresh you on your way, since your travels have brought you across my path."

They said, "Certainly. Go ahead."

Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. He said, "Hurry. Get three cups of our best flour; knead it and make bread."

Then Abraham ran to the cattle pen and picked out a nice plump calf and gave it to the servant who lost no time getting it ready. Then he got curds and milk, brought them with the calf that had been roasted, set the meal before the men, and stood there under the tree while they ate. Genesis 11:1-8 Message

Song

Green Green Grass of Home

The old home town looks the same,
As I step down from the train,
And there to meet me is my mama and my papa.
Down the road I look, and there comes Mary,
Hair of gold and lips like cherries.
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home.

The old house is still standing,
Though the paint is cracked and dry,
And there's the old oak tree that I used to play on.
Down the lane I walk with my sweet Mary,
Hair of gold and lips like cherries.
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home.

Yes, they'll all come to see me,
Arms reaching, smiling sweetly.
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home.

Then I awake and look around me,
At the four gray walls that surround me,
And I realize that I was only dreaming.
For there's a guard, and there's a sad old padre,
Arm in arm, we'll walk at daybreak.
Again, I'll touch the green, green grass of home.

Yes, they'll all come to see me
In the shade of the old oak tree,
As they lay me 'neath the green, green grass of home
.
