Daily Dose For June 6

Memory Verse And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 ESV

1 Samuel 2:12-4:1 Proverbs 6:20-35

“The first form of rulers in the world were the tyrants, the last will be the martyrs. Between a tyrant and a martyr there is of course an enormous difference, although they both have one thing in common: the power to compel. The tyrant, himself ambitious to dominate, compels -people through his power; the martyr, himself unconditionally obedient to God, compels others through his suffering. The tyrant dies and his rule is over; the martyr dies and his rule begins.” Søren Kierkegaard

God, give us discomfort at easy answers, half-truths, and superficial relationships, so that instead we may live deep within our hearts. Grant us anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of -people, so that we may wish for justice, freedom, and peace. Bless us with enough foolishness to believe that we can make a difference in this world so that we can do what others claim cannot be done. Amen. (commonprayer.net)

1 Samuel 1:1-2:11 Proverbs 5:1–6:19

Daily Dose For June 3

Memory Verse And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 ESV

Catch up day Proverbs 3:1–35

I entreat you, give no place to despondency. This is a dangerous temptation—a refined, not a gross temptation of the adversary. Melancholy contracts and withers the heart, and renders it unfit to receive the impressions of grace. It magnifies and gives a false coloring to objects, and thus renders your burdens too heavy to bear. God’s designs regarding you, and His methods of bringing about these designs, are infinitely wise.--Madame Guyon

Jesus, You never let go of us.  No matter the battle all around us, we are held firmly by Your grip of genuine Power.  Genuine Love. Jesus, as we hear with our human ears and see with our human eyes, all the cries of pain and hatred in this world today, may we not lose sight or hearing of Your Holy Spirit that floods our being.  It is Your will, for us to remain focused on Truth and reach out and grip the hurting and the lost, so they too may have freedom from the enemy, then  You grip them tightly. The chain of Your grip of Love can never be destroyed! Never!!!  Amen  (Prayers Cross)

Daily Dose For June 2

Memory Verse And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 ESV

Ruth 4 Proverbs 2:1–22

"There is nothing – no circumstance, no trouble, no testing – that can ever touch me until, first of all, it has gone past God and past Christ right through to me. If it has come that far, it has come with a great purpose, which I may not understand at the moment. But as I refuse to become panicky, as I lift up my eyes to Him and accept it as coming from the throne of God for some great purpose of blessing to my own heart, no sorrow will ever disturb me, no trial will ever disarm me, no circumstance will cause my to fret – for I shall rest in the joy of what my Lord is! That is the rest of victory!" Alan Redpath

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, You spared nothing for my salvation, even though it cost You terrible suffering and death, As Yours, give me the wisdom to plan well in the things of the world, but no desire to withhold anything from you because of the cost.  Amen (Let God Create Your day PG. 114)

Daily Dose For June 1

Memory Verse And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 ESV

Ruth 3 Proverbs 1:8-33

“Love without courage and wisdom is sentimentality, as with the ordinary church member. Courage without love and wisdom is foolhardiness, as with the ordinary soldier. Wisdom without love and courage is cowardice, as with the ordinary intellectual.” Ammon Hennacy

Lord, you give life to our understanding of love, courage, and wisdom. Today there are so many paths we might follow. Help us discern the direction to set our own faces so that we might meet you at the cross in our willingness to deny ourselves for your kingdom, and at the empty tomb in our living the resurrection life. Amen.(commonprayer.net)

Daily Dose For May 31

Memory Verse Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me severely if I allow anything but death to separate us!” Ruth 1:16,17 NLT

Ruth 2 Proverbs 1:1-7

Don't have to be no hunger
Don't have to be no war
Don't love this world any longer
Better learn how to say yes to the Lord, and say it
Alrightokuhhuhamen (say it)
Alrightokuhhuhamen
You can argue with your Maker
Or know the joy of saying yes to, to Him (let me hear you say)
Alrightokuhhuhamen (let me hear you say it)
Alrightokuhhuhamen
You can argue with your Maker
Or know the joy of saying yes to Him (so let me hear you say)

Alrightokuhhuhamen
Rich Mullins

Praise, to the Maker of noses, praise to man's missing piece.  Help me find my joy,  and to find my place of yes!  May my yes be an all right-ok-uh uh-amen to your commands! (REM)
