Memory Verse: But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

1 Timothy 6

Finding great gain.

Lord, any good thing that comes today is of your doing. Any victory over injustice, poverty, hunger, sickness, loneliness, displacement, and greed is by your might. We are merely channels for your work. Use us as you see fit and help us stand back when necessary. Amen. (commonprayer.net)

Memory Verse: But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

1 Timothy 5

Caring for God's Anointed

Lord, we are slow to come to our senses. Often our feeble offerings are merely extensions of our sin. Quicken your Spirit within us and move us to offer up that which is pleasing to you: justice, kindness, and humility of heart. Amen.

Memory Verse: But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

1 Timothy 4

Training for godliness.

Lord, show us when the enemy we fear is to be found within ourselves. Equip us, then, with the sword of your word and the shield of faith that we might stand our ground in this place where you have called us to dwell together in unity. Amen.

1 Timothy 3

Who is the mystery of godliness?

Lord, if we are to be afraid of anything, let it be the fear of not committing ourselves fully to you. Let us fear that the day will pass without our having lightened the load of another. Let us fear that someone will come looking for you and find only us. Amen. (commonprayer.net)

Memory Verse: But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

1 Timothy 2

Tertullian, one of the early church fathers who lived in North Africa at the close of the second century, gave us a list of some of the things he prayed for the Emperor: First, for a long life. Second, for secure dominions. Third, a safe home. Fourth, a faithful senate. Fifth, for righteous people; and Sixth, for a peaceful world. That is how the early Christians prayed for governmental leaders.

Praise to You Lord Jesus, a ransom for all.  I pray for a long life for our president.  Keep America safe, and the dream of freedom and responsibility, our Creator planted in man's heart.  May our leaders in Americal dwell in safety, so the debate of how best to keep America a Republic thrive.  May, all who have a role to play in leading the American people from the president to the local school board, be faithful to the rule of law.  Holy Spirit send a holy wind, that would destroy the sins of our nation and fan the flame of your righteousness.  So there may be peace on earth and a thirst for your Living Water.  Amen (REM)

Memory Verse: But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

1 Timothy 1

1Timothy was written to Timothy in A.D. 64 or 65, after Paul’s first imprisonment in Rome (Acts 28:16-31). Apparently, Paul had been out of prison for several years, and during that time he had revisited many churches in Asia and Macedonia. When he and Timothy returned to Ephesus, they found widespread false teaching in the church. Paul had warned the Ephesian elders to be on guard against the false teachers who inevitably would come after he had left (Acts 20:17-31).

Lord, remind us that we are resident aliens, called to be in the world but not of it. Show us today what it means to live as though your kingdom has come while trusting that it is still coming. Amen. (commonprayer.net)

Memory Verse: But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

Acts 8:1-25

The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.
Tertullian

For those suffering because of their Christian faith, that the Holy Spirit may fortify them with the courage to remain strong in faith, as well as with the charity to forgive their persecutors, we pray to the Lord.
