Daily Dose For April 18

Memory Verse  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4 ESV

Deuteronomy 19-20 Psalms 108

Trials are intended to make us think, to wean us from the world, to send us to the Bible, to drive us to our knees.  J.C. Ryle

Jesus, you are the King of Glory and the King of Creation. Teach us to recognize the ways of your kingdom that we might participate as faithful and devout residents in the space between a broken world and the coming kingdom of God. Amen. (commonprayer.net)

Daily Dose For April 17

Memory Verse  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4 ESV

Deuteronomy 16:18-18:22 Psalms 107

We must be detached from outward things and attached inwardly to the Lord Alone in order to see His wonders.

Hear our prayer, Father.
You are not limited by our limitations, and we are learning to lean upon You all the more for heaven's grace, power, and wisdom. May Christ's healing and reigning power be evident in all serving you on the front lines of each community. May Your promises of provision and consolation be poured out upon on those suffering unemployment, isolation, and grief of every kind. Draw hearts to Your goodness and saving grace. We entrust to You those we love when we cannot be with them or protect them. You are able and merciful. We desire faith to seek You for our daily bread, for every provision is from You. You are the Bread for our souls and will sustain us as we draw close to You through Christ our Lord. This is a time of great opportunity. May Your children shine brightly. Let Your sovereignty be mightily displayed. Help us not miss Your open doors while looking downward at our inconveniences and struggles. We will look up, for our help comes from the One who made heaven and earth. In Jesus' Name, amen. (Adah Hutchcraft)

Daily Dose For April 16

Memory Verse  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4 ESV

Deuteronomy 14:3-16:17 Psalms 106

When it comes to my salvation, all I need is Jesus; after my salvation, everything is Jesus plus the church... When people preach that all you need is Jesus, they cut you and I off from one of the greatest sources of healing, which is the body of Christ. Don't go it alone - you won't make it. Josh McDowell

Please Lord, heal our land.
Please Lord, please bring this virus to an end.
Lord, you are good. You are faithful. We will be faithful, too. Your ways are not our ways. We trust you. We know you are still on the throne, so we come to you for your help.
Please Lord, protect those on the margins. Protect the elderly, the vulnerable, those who are food insecure, those who are financially struggling, protect our children--please keep them healthy and innocent through this, and protect those who are in caves of depression and fighting dread, fear, and anxiety.
Please, Lord, deliver _______—and all of us--through this pandemic with your love and healing power. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen! Arron Chambers Journey Christian Church

Daily Dose For April 15

Memory Verse  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4 ESV

Deuteronomy 12-14:2 Psalms 105

The gospel is good news for losers, not winners. It’s for those who long to be freed from the slavery of believing that all of their significance, meaning, purpose, and security depend on their ability to “become a better you.” The gospel tells us that weakness precedes usefulness – that, in fact, the smaller you get, the freer you will be.  Tullian Tchividjian

Savior of the World, save us from our sin, our sadness, and our self-deception. Give us the courage to live in a world we cannot fix, with the hope that it has already been redeemed. Amen REM

Daily Dose For April 14

Memory Verse  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4 ESV

Deuteronomy 10-11 Psalms 104

“The hardest spiritual work in the world is to love the neighbor as the self – to encounter another human being not as someone you can use, change, fix, help, save, enroll, convince or control, but simply as someone who can spring you from the prison of yourself, if you will allow it.”— Barbara Brown Taylor

We thank you, Lord -Jesus, that you have risen from the dead and won a victory over the powers to save us from our sin. We praise you for our salvation and ask for the grace to praise you with our whole lives. Amen. (commonprayer.net)

Daily Dose For April 13

Memory Verse  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4 ESV

Deuteronomy 8-9 Psalms 103

“The Bible said the devil may come in many forms. Sometimes he may appear as a friend, celebrity or even a pretty girl or well built young man. A well-paying job, easy money opportunity or simply a chance at something too good to be true. More the often it probably is.” ― Carlos Wallace

Father, in faith, may we march out defiantly before the Egyptians, proclaiming your victory.  Shouting in joy, the destruction of the false gods. REM

Resurrection Sunday!

Memory Verse  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4 ESV

Deuteronomy 6-7 Psalms 102

Christian faith is not well expressed in the confident assertion that God will do a miracle so that churches can meet at Easter. It is well expressed in the quiet confidence that God will sustain his church under any circumstance. Jon Weatherly

Love poured out
on that cruel cross,
a blood offering
so we might go free.

(Pause)

Love poured out,
infusing this world
with rivers of grace
and hope of rebirth.

(Pause)

Love poured out,
and into these hearts,
who drink from a stream
that never runs dry
