The Daily Dose of God July 31

Memory Verse; There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord. Pr 21:30

John 19, Psalms 19

Truth crushed to earth will rise again. How long? Not long! Because no lie can live forever. How long? Not long! Truth forever on the scaffold, wrong forever on the throne. Yet that scaffold sways the future and behind the dim unknown standeth God within the shadow, keeping watch over his own. How long? Not long! Because the arc of the mortal universe is long but it bends toward justice. Martin Luther King Jr.

Lord, raise us up as servants who are willing to bear one another’s burdens. Surround us with others who will help make the burdens lighter. And help us rest in the assurance that you will not put more on our shoulders than we are able to carry, (with Your help). We ask this through Christ -Jesus, our Lord, who both told us to take up our cross and had help carrying his own. Amen.(commonprayer.net, REM)

The Daily Dose of God July 30

Memory Verse; There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord. Pr 21:30

John 18, Psalms 18

The choice is not between Jesus and the devil, it is far more subtle. It is between Jesus and our strongest allegiances. David Garland

Lord, it takes humility to acknowledge that our ways are not your ways. Surround us with your subtle and hidden prophets, that we might have help to overcome self-deception and face the truth that sets us free. Amen.  (Commonprayer.net)

The Daily Dose of God July 29

Memory Verse; There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord. Pr 21:30

John 17, Psalms 17

There is no need at all to make long discourses; it is enough to stretch out one’s hands and say, ‘Lord, as you will, and as you know, have mercy.’ And if the conflict grows fiercer say, ‘Lord, help!’ He knows very well what we need and he shows us his mercy.  Macarius

Holy One, so often we claim to see but prefer our blindness. Send us teachers and saints whose lives speak loudly of faith and perseverance to guide us when we unknowingly stray from wisdom’s course. Help us to find the Way, the Truth, and the Life in this world of shortcuts, deception, and death. Amen. (Commonprayer.net)

The Daily Dose of God July 28

Memory Verse; There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord. Pr 21:30

John 16, Psalms 16

Wisely, and slow.  They stumble that run fast.

Jesus, thank You for being my constant source of strength. I am so grateful that I can come to You whenever I need help or reassurance because You never change. I don’t have to wonder if You’re going to stop loving me because that’s not in line with who You are. You are the same, which allows me to always depend on You.  Thank You! In Jesus name, Amen  (New Dawn

The Daily Dose of God July 27

Memory Verse; There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord. Pr 21:30

John 14-15, Psalms 15

Live simply so others may simply live.

Lord, thank you for using the foolish to confound the wise and the weak ones to shame the strong. Help us live with the shrewdness of serpents and the innocence of doves. Keep our feet from fatigue, our spirits from despair, and our hands from failing to rise in praise to you. Amen.  (Commonprayer.net)

John 13, Psalms 14

There is no safe investment. To love at all is to be vulnerable. C.S. Lewis

God, today I want to come before You and just spend time with You. Show me what I can do to draw near to You with faith, humility, and confidence. I know that You can do amazing things, so please strengthen my faith and my hope in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.  (New Dawn @olumideki)

The Daily Dose of God July 25

Memory Verse; There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord. Pr 21:30

John 12:37-50, Psalms 13

Today our prime educational objective must be to form men-for-others; men who will live not for themselves but for God and his Christ for the God-man who lived and died for all the world; men who cannot even conceive of love of God which does not include love for the least of their neighbors; men completely convinced that love of God which does not issue in justice for men is a farce. Pedro Arrupe

Almighty God, thank you for the cloud of witnesses who have gone before us. Surround us with living saints who remind us of the sort of -people we are trying to become. When we fall short of who we want to be, catch us in the arms of your grace. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. (Commonprayer.net)
