Daily Dose For August 8

Memory Verse  O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens! Psalms 8:1 NASB

Catch up day.  Psalms 34

God built into the creation a variety of cultural spheres, such as the family, economics, politics, art, and intellectual inquiry. Each of these spheres has its own proper "business" and needs its own unique pattern of authority. When we confuse spheres, by violating the proper boundaries of church and state, for instance, or reducing the academic life to a business enterprise, we transgress the patterns that God has set.- Abraham Kuyper

Jesus, You are our Savior and Healer.  All we can do is continue holding fast and strong to Your control of all things.  We pray this day freedom and cleansing of the world of this plague upon it. Amen (Prayerscross facebook)

Atheists themselves used to be very comfortable in maintaining that the universe is eternal and uncaused. The problem is that they can no longer hold that position because modern evidence that the universe started with the Big Bang. So they can't legitimately object when I make the same claim about God-he is eternal and he is uncaused.- William Lane Craig

God our Father, you created the world and sent your own Son to live among us, made of the same stuff, breathing the same air, marveling at sunrise and sunset just as we do. Help us to participate in the life around and within us as your life, as you living in us and we living in you and in each other. God of love and life, restore us to your peace, renew us through your power and teach us to love all that you have created and to care for the earth as your gift and our home. Daily Dose For August 2

Memory Verse  O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens! Psalms 8:1 NASB

2 Kings 18  Psalms 28

I think I would rather live on the verge of falling and let my security be in the all-sufficiency of the grace of God than to live in some pietistic illusion of moral excellence. Not that I don't want to be morally excellent but my faith isn't in the idea that I'm more moral than anybody else. My faith is in the idea that God and His love are greater than whatever sins any of us commit.

Rich Mullins

Father, save me from the foolish thought, I can "sin secretly".  Help me to see evidence of you everywhere. Jesus, You have forgiven your stiff nicked children, help me to remember this when others are unreasonable with me.  Holy  Spirit woo me away from worthless idols.  That I may obey the only true God.  Amen  (REM)
