Daily Dose For April 4

Memory Verse  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4 ESV

Numbers 34-35 Psalms 94

When I see a windmill, I see the Holy Spirit at work in the life of a believer. First, pneuma is the same Greek word for both wind and Spirit. "The winds are your messengers; flames of fire are your servants" (Psalms 104:4). The windmill adjusts to the direction of the wind in order to work, just as the Christian must adjust to the divine Wind in order for life to work. Jesus said, "The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but
can't tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can't explain how people are born of the Spirit" (John 3:8). The windmill brings forth life-giving water to a dry and thirsty land, just as Christians are to overflow with the Living Water of His Spirit! "Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. By this, he meant the Spirit. . ." (John 7:38,39). So, the next time you pass one of the prairie's whirligigs may you be amazed at the works of God. Roger Miller

Holy Spirit, I invite You to lead me today. Thank You for teaching me and giving me grace to reject the lies of the enemy, of this WORLD and POWER to believe the truth of Your WORD: that I’m loved, forgiven, and You have a great  HOPE and FUTURE ahead of me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Daily Dose For April 3rd

Memory Verse  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4 ESV

Numbers 32-33 Psalms 93

“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” Mark Twain

God, Keep my anger from becoming meanness.  Keep my sorrow from collapsing into self-pity.  Keep my heart soft enough to keep breaking.  Keep my anger turned toward justice, not cruelty.  Remind me that all of this, every bit of it, if for love.  Keep me fiercely kind.  Amen  (https://www.facebook.com/CelticChristiantradition)

Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation. ~ Elton Trueblood

God, our country has seen great revivals and still we've turned from you.  Wake us up to Your love.  Revive and renew us.  Make a highway in the wilderness for droves of Americans to come home to you, Jesus.  (https://www.facebook.com/harvestprayer/)

Daily Dose For March 30

Memory Verse Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! 1 John 3:1 NKJV

Numbers 25 Psalms 89

A silkworm was struggling out of the cocoon and an ignorant man saw it battling as if in pain, so he went and helped it to get free, but very soon after it fluttered and died. The other silkworms that struggled out without help suffered, but they came out into full life and beauty, with wings made strong for flight by their battle for fresh existence. Sadhu Sundar Singh

Lord, mold us and form us into the kind of -people you want us to be. Be patient with us when we fall short of what love demands of us. And give us patience with ourselves. Catch us in the arms of your grace. Amen. (commonprayer.net)

Daily Dose For March 29

Memory Verse Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! 1 John 3:1 NKJV

Numbers 22-24 Psalms 88

“When we suffer anything for Christ’s sake, we should do so not only with courage, but even with joy. If we have to go hungry, let us be glad as if we were at a banquet. If we are insulted, let us be elated as though we had been showered with praises. If we lose all we possess, let us consider ourselves the gainers. If we provide for the poor, let us regard ourselves as the recipients. Do not think of the painful effort involved, but of the sweetness of the reward; and above all, remember that your struggles are for the sake of our Lord -Jesus.” John Chrysostom

Transform our memory, Lord, so that whenever we encounter suffering for your sake, we will recall all the saints who have gone before us whose courage and faith brought us this far. Amen.
