Psalms 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Acts 23

God leads Paul through a very dark valley.

Father, Where you lead I will follow!

John 1:19-51

In John 1 one of the two disciples was Andrew (1:40). The other was probably John, the writer of this book. Why did these disciples leave John the Baptist? Because that’s what John wanted them to do—he was pointing the way to Jesus, the one John had prepared them to follow.

Lord our God,

Amid the uncertainties of our human life,

May we pause and draw strength from you,

Trusting in your faithful love.

We ask this through Jesus, you Son, your Lord

Matthew 4

In Matthew 4 we see an example of how the Son of Man kept in step with the Holy Spirit, as a sheep following his shepherd.  And we are introduced to Peter and Andrew who begin to follow their Good Shepherd Jesus.

Only you know if these dry bones can live.

You have spoken and lived the words of life in Jesus.

Holy Spirit; just today give these old bones new life, 

to live the for the glory and honor for the 

Father, Son and Holy Ghost Amen R.M.

Leviticus 18

Lord, you have brought us in safety to this new day. Preserve us now by your mighty power that we might not fall into sin nor be overcome by adversity, and in all that we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose, through -Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Psalms 28

"God, so much of the time, I forget your goodness and I just stop asking you for help. I'm not learning to trust you, because I'm not asking you to meet my needs. You told me to come boldly in prayer to the good and gracious God, and expect you to answer out of your goodness. I want to start asking for your blessing and answers to my needs every day of my life. Lord, because I forget your goodness, I often stop trusting you in difficult times. Help me to remember that in everything, you're working for good, even the bad stuff, because you have a good plan for my life. I don't want to be pessimistic about my future. Like David, I would despair if I didn't know the goodness of God. Help me to wait for you, help me to be strong, to take courage in my heart, and to wait for God to answer the needs in my life.  Amen
