Proverbs 12

Trust is made for the darkness.

Holy Father in Heaven, We trust Christ to lead us into all truth. Open our hearts to Him without selectiveness, for He is trustworthy. In the name of Christ, amen. (Adah Hutchcraft)

The Daily Dose of God June 18

Memory Verse; For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Proverbs 11

All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone. Blaise Pascal, Pensées

Father God, You have brought to my mind today the interplay between monotony and faithfulness. Every day has its nuances and some days are very different, but generally, my days are very similar. It is easy to become uninspired by the routine. I have relationships where I want to be inspirational and spiritually influential, but most days it seems like I’m not getting anywhere. Today You reminded me that ‘faithfulness’ is the inspiring label that I put on the monotonous, every day, and routine. Tony Evans explains this as knocking down a cinder block wall. You hit it and hit it and hit it over and over seemingly getting nowhere...but then you see that first little crack. Cinder block walls only come down by faithfulness to swing that sledgehammer as many times as it takes. Holy Spirit, help me to be faithful to swing my hammer through the monotonous and routine as long as it takes...even if it is until I see You face to face. With a grateful heart, I ask this in Jesus’ name...Amen #myprayertoday #chrisstovallprayers

The Daily Dose of God June 17

Memory Verse; For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Mark 16, Proverbs 10

The theological virtue of hope is the patient and trustful willingness to live without closure, without resolution, and still be content and even happy because our Satisfaction is now at another level, and our Source is beyond ourselves.  Richard Rohr

Most Gracious Father,

You know our deepest hurts, greatest joys, most trying fears, and strongest desires. No matter the season we go through, we want You to be at the center of our hearts. We trust in You for a joyful eternity, even so we will trust You for the needs of today.

In the Name of Christ, amen. (Adah Hutchcraft)

Memory Verse; For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Mark 15, Proverbs 9

So I am praying while not knowing how to pray. I am resting while feeling restless, at peace while tempted, safe while still anxious, surrounded by a cloud of light while still in darkness, in love while still doubting.  Henri Nouwen

Lord, free us from our self-deception and attune our hearts to your Spirit, that we might remember how you humbled yourself, and learn to serve one another, whatever our disagreements. Amen.  (Commonprayer.net)

Memory Verse; For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Mark 14, Proverbs 8

When once you are rooted in reality, nothing can shake you. If your faith is in experiences, anything that happens is likely to upset that faith; but nothing can ever upset God or the almighty Reality of Redemption; base your faith on that and you are as eternally secure as God. When once you get into personal contact with Jesus Christ, you will never be moved again.  Oswald Chambers

You alone secure us in our place, O Lord. In our going out and coming in, deliver us from fear, that we may, by your Spirit’s power, let down our defenses in love. Amen. (Commonprayer.net)

The Daily Dose of God June 14

Memory Verse; For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Mark 12:41-13:37, Proverbs 7

Following -Jesus will mean surrendering the power that masquerades as security in order to love the neighbor and welcome the stranger. It will mean avoiding the safe path in order to pursue the good. But in a culture of fear, we find such risks all the more difficult since our natural inclinations lead us to close in on ourselves when we face danger. How can we maintain the posture of the open hand toward a world that scares us?  Scott Bader-Saye

Oh Jesus, how grateful we are for the gift of nearness to GOD our Father.  You draw us every day to the nearness of the Love of You.  It's like the focus on all issues invading our beings and surrounding ourselves is taken and we are restored every day.  You are our nearness and our sincere hearts. Amen (Prayers Cross)

Memory Verse; For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Mark 11:27-12:40, Proverbs 6:20-35

We can't change the world, and a lot of time we can't even change people. No more than one bit at a time. So we do what we can to help whenever we get the chance, sweetheart. We save those we can. We do our best. Then we try to find a way to convince ourselves that that will just have to...be enough. So we can live with our failures without drowning.  Fredrik Backman, Anxious People

Lord, you call us out of captivity into the freedom of your beloved community. As we pass through the wilderness spaces of our lives, grant us ears to hear you, eyes to see you, and hearts that ache for you, that we might not turn away from the brothers and sisters who help us remember who we are. Amen (Commonprayer.net)
