Daily Dose For February 15

Memory Verse Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

Exodus 26-27 Psalms 47

"Always remember that to argue, and win, is to break down the reality of the person you are arguing against. It is painful to lose your reality, so be kind, even if you are right." Haruki Murakami

Look with mercy, O God our Father,
on all whose increasing years bring them
 weakness, distress, or isolation.
Provide for them homes of dignity and peace;
give them understanding helpers,
 and to them willingness to accept help;
 and, as their strength diminishes,
 Increase their assurance of your love.
This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ
 Our Lord. Amen.

Memory Verse Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

Exodus 24:12-25:40 Psalms 45

“How noble and good everyone could be if, every evening before falling asleep, they were to recall to mind the events of the whole day and consider exactly what has been good and bad. Then, without realizing it, you try to improve yourself at the start of each new day; of course, you achieve quite a lot in the course of time. " Source: The Diary of Anne Frank: The Revised Critical Edition

Father, I abandon myself into your hands, do with me what you will.  For whatever you may do, I thank you. I am ready for all, I accept all, let only your will be done in me, as in all your creatures.”  Charles De Foucauld

"Never postpone a good deed which you can do now, because death does not choose whether you have or haven’t done the things you should have done. Death waits for nobody and nothing. It has neither enemies, nor friends." Indian Proverb

Lord, show us that reconciling with those we imagine are different from us is not only for peace, but also to train us more deeply in the faith that honors everything created by your hand. Help us see that reconciliation leads to deeper knowledge of you. Amen. (commonprayer.net)

Exodus 19-20 Psalms 42

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. ps 23:1
Not was, not maybe, not will be.  The Lord is my Shepherd.  He is on Sunday, on Monday, and through every day of the week.  He is in January, in December, and in every month of the year.  He is when I'm home and in China.  He is during peace, or war, and in times or abundance or poverty.   J Hudson Taylor

Father
Give me the faith and trust
That what comes my way this day

Is small potatoes to you.  Amen

Daily Dose For February 10

Memory Verse Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

Exodus 17:8-18:27 Psalms 41

God has imprinted the image of the good things of His own nature on creation. But sin, in spreading out over the divine likeness, has caused this good to disappear, covering it with shameful garments. But if by life rightly led, you wash away the mud that has been put on your heart, the Godlike beauty will again shine out in you.” Fourth-century bishop Gregory of Nyssa

Lord, give us a good start : and the grace never to give up.

Daily Dose For February 9

Memory Verse Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

Exodus 15:22-17:7 Psalms 40

“The great and firm foundation of the spiritual life is the offering of ourselves to God and being subject to his will in all things. We must completely forget ourselves, so that we regard ourselves as an object which has been sold and over which we no longer have any rights. We find all our joy in fulfilling God’s pleasure his happiness, his glory and the fact that he is our great and only delight. Once we have this foundation, all we need to do is spend our lives rejoicing that God is God and being so wholly abandoned to his will that we are quite indifferent as to what we do and equally indifferent as to what use he makes of our activities.” Eighteenth-century Jesuit Jean-Pierre de Caussade

Father, when you made us in the garden, your words still echo true, it is not good for man to be alone. Jesus, praise to the Lamb that was slain. You died birthing the church and raised to sustain it. May we bring new life and sustain the church today through our prayers, words, and action as we do life together in Christ! Amen
