Memory Verse; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God  Romans 3:23

Zech 3-6, Ps 121

Upon a life I did not live, upon a death I did not die, I risk my whole eternity on the resurrection. C. H. Spurgeon

Dear God, If I start to lose hope, remind me that you can do more in 1 second than I can in a lifetime. (Kings Highway)

Memory Verse; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God  Romans 3:23

Zech 1-2, Ps 120

Kindness is the language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see.  Mark Twain

God, Keep my anger, from becoming meanness.

Keep my sorrow, from collapsing into self-pity.

Keep my heart soft enough to keep breaking.

Keep my anger turned towards justice, not cruelty.

Remind me that all of this, every bit of it, is for love.

Keep me fiercely kind. Amen (Laura Jean Truman Celtic Christian Tradition)

Memory Verse; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God  Romans 3:23

Catch-Up-Day, Ps 119

One thing, however, is sure: unless Christians fulfill their prophetic role, unless they become the advocates and defenders of the truly poor, witness to their misery, then, infallibly, violence will suddenly break out. In one way or other ‘their blood cries to heaven,’ and violence will seem the only way out. It will be too late to try to calm them and create harmony. Jacques Ellul

God, you call us to walk alongside the poor, all the while reminding us of our own poverty in spirit. Grant us courage to cry out against injustice. Grant us burdened hearts that ache to see the enemies of hunger, violence, and economic injustice scattered. (Commonprayer.net)

Memory Verse; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God  Romans 3:23

Haggai, Ps 118

The man whose little sermon is 'repent' sets himself against his age, and will. . .be battered mercilessly by the age whose moral tone he challenges.  There is but one end for such a man.  'Off with his head!'  You had better not try to preach repentance until you have pledged your head to heaven.  Joseph Parker

Jesus, this day we do draw near to  You.  Our time of existence is no different than all beings from creation time to ever creating time going on,  The enemy never ceases to hit and this is the way of his being,  But...We are not his and we do not cease in prayer and strength from You in our beings.  So when we are weak, worn and just plain tired...we come to You and pray.  Srengthen our being this day.  Flood our beings with Your Love and Grace so we can display You and only You. Amen (Prayers Cross)

Zephaniah 2-3, Ps 118

True purity has been counterfeited by false sanctity. We can know, sing, repeat, and teach the Word of God, yet its true harvest may be absent in our lives, our homes, and our world. We must never assume that someone who is gifted verbally and has theological knowledge is spiritually mature. Sometimes that leader is a narcissist, working the system and the people in it to feed themselves.  Diane Langberg, Redeeming Power: Understanding Authority and Abuse in the Church

Our Gracious God, May our behavior be with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but empowered by Your grace. May our love not simply consist of word or talk but be found in deed and in truth. Remind us throughout this day that the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. May our lives be fragrant with Your love and wisdom. In the Name of Christ the Truth, Amen. (Adah Hutchcraft)

Beauty is a reminder that there is more to our stories than sin, pain, and death —@Tish_H_Warren

Like a tree planted by living water is the person who commits to your ways, O Lord. Nourish us with your disciplining love; prune our branches for growth. Teach us also to recognize good fruit and to recoil from the bitterness of the bad. Amen. (CommonPrayer.net)

Habakuk, Ps 115

Spread your cloak over those who fall into sin, each and every one, and shield them.  Saint Isaac the Syrian

Jesus, we know Your refuge for our beings is what maintains our strength and desire to keep sharing You, Your Love and Your Truth! Amen (Prayers Cross)
