Daily Dose of God's Word For August 23rd

Daily Dose of God's Word For 8-23

Memory Verse: There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called Ephesians 4:4

Ask yourself is it possible for us today to commit blasphemy of the Holy Spirit?

Can we see first hand obvious proofs of Jesus Messiahship and deny them?

Read Matthew 12:22-37 again

Pray

O God our deliverer, we thank you that you have not left us alone. Thank you for the Spirit who intercedes for us. Give us wisdom beyond ourselves that we might see the path you have set before us. Grant us words that bring life to the broken, the suffering, the addicted, the lonely, and those who long for the fulfillment of your kingdom. Amen.

Ask yourself how is Numbers 15:30,31, Matthews 12:31,32 ,Mark 3:28-30, and Hebrews 6:4-6 Connected?

Pray
Heavenly Father, I am your humble servant, I come before you today in need of hope. There are times when I fell helpless, There are times when I feel weak. I pray for hope. I need hope for a better future. I need hope for a better life. I need hope for love and kindness.

Some say that the sky is at it's darkest just before the light. I pray that this is true, for all seems dark. I need your light, Lord, in every way.

I pray to be filled with your light from head to toe. To bask in your glory. To know that all is right in the world, as you have planned, and as you want it to be. Help me to walk in your light, and live my life in faith and glory.

In your name, I pray, Amen.

Daily Dose of God's Word For August 21st

Daily Dose of God's Word For 8-21

Memory Verse: There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called Ephesians 4:4

Mark 3

From the statements of Jesus we learn the following concerning the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit:

1. The sin was against the Holy Spirit. The accusation was made by the Pharisees was not only against Christ; ultimately it was against the Holy Spirit who was performing the miracles through Christ.

2. Those who sin against Jesus can be forgiven. But sinning against the Holy Spirit, who personifies the power of God, is unforgivable. There could no question that the miracle had been through the power of the Holy Spirit. Those who attribute the Holy Spirits work to Satan cannot expect to be forgiven.

3. The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is more than one particular sin; it is a continuous state of being. The religious leaders were constantly attributing the works of Christ through the Holy Spirit, to the devil. This revealed the evil condition of their hearts.

4. The consequences of blaspheming the Holy Spirit meant eternal damnation. There could be no forgiveness in this life or in eternity.  From the statements of Jesus, we learn the following concerning the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. https://www.blueletterbible.org/faq/don_stewart/don_stewart_439.cfm

Pray

Lord God, help us to live out your gospel in the world. We pray for those who do not know your love, that they would be wooed by your goodness and seduced by your beauty. Form us into a family that runs deeper than biology or nationality or ethnicity, a family that is born again in you. May we be creators of holy mischief and agitators of comfort . . . -people who do not accept the world as it is but insist on it's becoming what you want it to be. Let us groan as in the pains of childbirth for your kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven. Help us to be midwives of that kingdom. Amen. (http://commonprayer.net)

Daily Dose of God's Word For August 18th

Daily Dose of God's Word For 8-18

Memory Verse: There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called Ephesians 4:4

Matthew 12:22-37

The background of Jesus warning can be found in Matthew 12:22-30. Jesus healed a man who was possessed by a demon. His demon possession made him blind, mute, and probably deaf. This combination of illnesses made it impossible for anyone to cast the demon out of the man because there was no way anyone they could communicate with him. When the people saw Jesus heal the man, they wondered if He could be the Messiah.  The Pharisees denied the obvious proof of His Messiahship and called good evil.  Thereby, committing blasphemy.

Pray

Thank you, Lord, for working through us despite our sinfulness. By the power of your glorious resurrection, give us the grace to love sinners like ourselves. We ask this in the name of our Lord -Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen.

2 Timothy 2:20-26

How do we prepare to be used by God for special purposes?

Pray

Lord, I pray you would move the Spirit more boldly in my life. I know that any sin can grieve and diminish the voice of the Spirit, and I pray against the temptation to sin. Help me crave your presence more than I crave sin. Help me grow in the fruit of the Spirit and so walk closer with Yourself. I pray for guidance from your Spirit- let your will and promises always be a meditation of my heart. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
