Memory Verse; The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 NIV

Jeremiah 7-8:17 Psalms 9

Love, work, prayer, and suffering will sustain us in the future as they have in the past. All who are here now, all who will come after us, will have no other tools than these with which to build. Mollie Rogers

Lord -Jesus Christ, your blood washes away our sins and reconciles us to you. May we never get used to the wonder of a God who gives his own life for those who are killing him. Amen.(Commonprayer.net)

Jeremiah 4:5-5:31 Psalms 7

When one’s focus is more on national power than biblical piety, we aren’t walking Christ’s Way, but have twisted country and Christ in a sick, syncretistic way. Ann Voskamp (https://annvoskamp.com/2021/01/in-days-like-these-what-allegiance-to-the-king-looks-like-about-nationalism-syncretism-evangelicalism/)

Father in Heaven, The Lord Jesus said that before His return we will hear of wars and rumors of wars. May we take to heart His gracious call to not be troubled, for all these things must come to pass. We thank You Jesus told us that nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, that there will be famines, pestilence, and earthquakes throughout the world. You have told us thisso we do not lose heart, but believe. Even when we are persecuted and see the love of many grow cold we can take courage because we belong to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This world is not our home and our citizenship is in heaven where Christ is enthroned and reigning over all things. Give us courage and strength, for Christ promised that those who endure to the end will be saved. May we stay spiritually awake and alert, for we do not know the day our Lord is coming. We wait in hope. In the Name of Christ, amen. (AdahHutchcraft)

Memory Verse; The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 NIV

Jeremiah 6 Psalms 8

“Jesus died the victim of executioners with imperial power. There is an inescapable opposition between the life and death of -Jesus, and imperial power. To embrace and love the executed God is to be in resistance to empire. To be a follower of the executed -Jesus of Nazareth is to venture down a road without having a place in the system of imperial control.” Mark L. Taylor

Lord, even though you have conquered the grave, death is still an enemy that robs creation of your intent for life. Make us offended by death wherever we find it. Help us to advocate for life, from our communities to our capitols. Amen. (Commonprayer.net)

Memory Verse; The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 NIV

Jeremiah 3:6-4:4 Psalms 6

"Justice is any act of reconciliation that restores any part of God's creation back to its original intent, purpose or image. When I think about justice that way, it doesn't surprise me at all that God loves it. It includes both the acts of social justice and the restorative justice found on the cross."  John M. Perkins, Dream with Me: Race, Love, and the Struggle We Must Win

Jesus, sometimes we really do feel the weariness of the world's hits.  But it is Your Spirit that resides in us and we pray.  We lift our weary bodies and minds up to You this day and we completely rest in the Divinity of Your control over ALL things happening.  May this day we remain steadfast in the display of Faith, the Faith You produced in us. You blessed our beings with a trust and a faith that cannot be taken.  We remain in You. You remain in us. Amen (PrayersCross)

Jeremiah 2:-3:5 Psalms 5

There is a place called 'heaven' where the good here unfinished is completed; and where the stories unwritten, and the hopes unfulfilled, are continued.  J.R.R. Tolkien (Letter to his son Michael, June 9, 1941)

O God,

Help us please to understand and to act,

The world has had so many tragedies in recent months.

We struggle to see good some days.

The news is inescapable, at times;

coming even into our pockets and purses.

The bad news is broadcast in restaurants and on screens,

in every public space it seems.

We look for peace and rest.

We struggle and try to see good in our society.

It feels some days like everything is gone we once counted on.

Please God, give us strength and resolve,

To remember that every small act of kindness matters.

Help us to rely on you and your word,

And not on the media and leaders who are weak.

Please guide us and strengthen us to do your will.

We pray Lord you will forgive us for our pettiness,

And help us to remember and follow your Son, our Savior,

Who died on the cross.  Amen  (Prayer by Beth Maxwell Boyle.)

Shame, secrets, lies, betrayals, relationship breakdowns, disappointments, and unresolved longings for unconditional love lie beneath the veneer of even the most respectable families.  Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, Peter Scazzero Pg. 14

Lord, we pray not to get lost in the reality of our own depravity, but rather to find ourselves morning by morning in the light of your mercy and redemption. Amen. (Commonprayer.net)

I've seen too many stars to let the darkness overwhelm me. --Macrina Wiederkehr

Lord, I thank you for what You did for me all those years ago, and what You do for me daily. I will never understand the magnitude of Your love for me, but I gratefully accept it. I pray that I always remember that, even in my sin, You saw my worth. Help me to see the worth in all people. Help me to love them the way that You do and to sacrifice my needs and desires so that I may help others. Amen. (Rev. Daniel Bramlett)
