Daily Dose For June 23

Memory Verse And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 ESV

2 Samuel 1-2 Proverbs 22:1-16

Justice is a process, and change takes time, but I believe we ought to dream big dreams and make big statements as we pursue those dreams.  Amos didn't tell the people that God wants justice to trickle through their society.  The New Living Translation uses the phrase "Mighty flood of justice"  (Amos 5:24) to describe what God want's to see.  Once thing we learned in Mendenhall is that one floodwaters start rushing through a place, there's no turning back with human strength.  John Perkins Minister, Civil Rights Activists.

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens; your faithfulness stretches to the sky. Lift us by the power of your Holy Spirit to participate in your goodness and bear witness to your loving-kindness in every move we make today. Amen.(commonprayer.net)
