Tupperware & Socks

Memorize: Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Luke 24:5,6

Joseph                         Jesus
Genesis 42:7                                         Zechariah 12:10

Similarities and differences?

I am fixated on a silly post on Facebook; "Remember, if you lose a sock in the dryer, it comes

back as a Tupperware lid that doesn't fit any of your containers.   It's a way of saying, your sins

will come home to roost, isn't it?

In Genesis 42, Jacobs boys are staring at the long lost sock, that doesn't fit.  In Zechariah 12 it

foretells over 500 years into the future, The Tupperware lid that did not fit their container would

be pierced.  And  Israel would mourn for what they had done. Fifty days after the piercing, they

were cut to the heart!

You can not, deal with your sin, shame or failure until you look upon it, accept reality, and then

give it to God.  What in your life has pierced Christ?  Will you foolishly attempt to hide it?  Or

will you intently look at it, confess the wrong, mourn the cost of the wrong, and then come to

God for healing?  Repentance, is not a promise we will do better, it is a promise from God, we

will be forgiven!
