Daily Dose For August 15

Memory Verse  O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens! Psalms 8:1 NASB

1 Chronicles 11-12 Psalms 41

All created beings are under the authority of what they fear. Thompson, Roger W. We Stood upon Stars: Finding God in Lost Places. WaterBrook, 2017.

Father in Heaven,

When You send relief and answer prayers, may our hearts not be content to silently receive and forget. We will joyfully and unashamedly praise You for Your goodness. We will not permit fear or distraction to rob us of Your joy. When You provide, let us not stop at being happy for happiness' sake. It is right to give You thanks. Troubles come and go, but You are always with us. You are attentive and generous, and You are working all things together for our good, so help us believe and not doubt. You are faithful! Deepen our love for You so we will quickly and boldly thank You for Your mercies as You give them. If mocked or challenged for giving honor to You in matters great or small, honor belongs to You nonetheless. We would not be drawn away from childlike dependence upon Christ. As we seek You in our distress, so may we bless You for answering our prayers. Let us declare Your tender mercies and mighty works together. Delight in us, Father. We delight in You. In the Name of Christ, amen. (Adah Hutchcraft)
