Snippet
“God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop,
broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken
bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives
forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater
power than ever.” ― Vance Havner
Scripture
While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of
the high priest came by. When she saw Peter warming himself,
she looked closely at him.
“You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus,” she said.
But he denied it. “I don’t know or understand what you’re talking
about,” he said, and went out into the entryway.[g]
When the servant girl saw him there, she said again to those
standing around, “This fellow is one of them.” Again he denied it.
After a little while, those standing near said to Peter, “Surely you
are one of them, for you are a Galilean.”
He began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t
know this man you’re talking about.”
Immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Then Peter
remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the
rooster crows twice you will disown me three times.” And he
broke down and wept. Mark 14:66-72 NIV

I’ve done a little living
Things I ain’t proud of
And my best intentions
They all turn to dust
Burned some bridges, learned some lessons
Made me who I am today
Somewhere between a sinner and saint
I get lost, I get found
Lose my way, but I turn around
Hit my knees, lift a prayer
Once again
Ask for mercy, ask for grace
Then I do the best I can
And I thank God he loves a broken man
Got a couple children
And a wife I love
Their eyes are watching
I don’t want mess this up
I’ve come so far from the man that I was
Still I’ve got so far to go
Holding to the one thing that I know
I get lost, I get found
Lose my way, but I turn around
Hit my knees, lift a prayer
Once again
Ask for mercy, ask for grace
Then I do the best I can
And I thank God he loves a broken man
Somehow I’ve seen heaven
Use the hell I raised
To bring me from the ashes
And show me I can change
Oh, even I can change
I get lost, I get found
Lose my way, but I turn around
Hit my knees, lift a prayer
Once again
Ask for mercy, ask for grace
Then I do the best I can
And I thank God he loves a broken man
Sentence Prayer
Father;
Only you can use a bent stick to hit curve balls straight, out of
the park. Amen
