GRIEF

Snippet
Do not hurry as you walk with grief; it does not help the journey.
Walk slowly, pausing often: do not hurry as you walk with grief.
Be not disturbed by memories that come unbidden. Swiftly
forgive; and let Christ speak for you unspoken words. Unfinished
conversation will be resolved in Him.  Be not disturbed.  Be gentle
with the one who walks with grief.  If it is you, be gentle with
yourself.  Swiftly forgive; walk slowly, pausing often.  Take time,
be gentle as you walk with grief.”  (Andy Raine of Northumbria Community Common Prayer a Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals.471 Zondervan Grand Rapids MI 2010)
Scripture
It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the

house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living

will lay it to his heart.  Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the

sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. The heart of

the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in

the house of mirth. Ecclesiastes 7 :2-4 KJV

Song
Ready for Home Capital Kings
(Ready For Home [2x])
Uh yeah
I wish that I could find a way
To hit fast forward just to get through this maze
And to see that day when I'm finally headed home
Forget that feeling and being lost and on the roam
Yeah, I know
I've been out of whack
But, I know
You know how to bring me back
'Cause
Even when I slip and fall
You always got my back through the thick of it all, yeah
Walkin' these circles got me comin' unglued
Gave you my heart and then I stole it from you
My weary head is swimmin' straight for your shore
I feel a calling
From the one I adore
Ready for Home
(So won't you take me there)
Ready for Home
(Out of this atmosphere)
I'm runnin' into your arms
I'm steppin' out of the cold
Ready for Home
I'm Ready for Home
I remember that very day
I said I would be different, that I'd always find a way
To let you know you'd always be the one
I kept my eyes on, but that's not what I've done
'Cause you know
I try to play my part
And you know
I always come up short
I know
I should be forever in debt
But that's something that you said you'd always choose to forget
Walkin' these circles got me comin' unglued
Gave you my heart and then I stole it from you
My weary head is swimmin' straight for your shore
I feel a calling
From the one I adore
Ready for Home
(So won't you take me there)
Ready for Home
(Out of this atmosphere)
I'm runnin' into your arms
I'm steppin' out of the cold
Ready for Home
So if you're
Leavin' with us, sing it out loud
Livin' it right, there ain't no doubt
If you're with us, sing it out loud
We're following the light, yeah
[2x]

I'm steppin' out of the cold
Ready for Home

Livin' it right, there ain't no doubt

Sentence Prayer
Lord, as the seasons turn, creation teaches us of grief, patience,
and renewal.  Make us good students of these rhythms that we
might not hurry the work of grief but revive the gift of your
presence in our time of need. (Community Common Prayer a
Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals.471 Zondervan Grand Rapids MI
2010)  Just as the death of winter is inevitable, so is the new life

of spring.  Amen
