Snippet
Mary's virginity protected a great deal more than her own
moral character, reputation, and the legitimacy of Jesus' birth. It protected
the nature of the divine Son of God… Jesus had to have one human parent or He
could not have been human, and thereby a partaker of our flesh. But He also had
to have divine parentage of He could not have made a sinless and perfect
sacrifice on our behalf. John MacArthur
Matthew 1-7, Moody, 1985, p. 16-17.
Scripture
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the
government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NIV
Song
Silent Night
Celtic Women
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born
Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth "

Sentence Prayer
Father, I am always
split between Joy and Sorrow when I grasp what Jesus had to go through for my
sin. Thank you for sending him to our
planet two thousand years ago. I pray through his sacrifice. Amen
